Toast is Edinburgh’s locally-owned neighbourhood café with a trio of locations: a bustling café-wine-bar on the Shore, bites and pours in leafy Marchmont, and an artisan bakery on Leith Walk.
Three Family-Run Neighbourhood Corners
The Shore
Edinburgh’s first wine café, housed in a former art gallery and right on the Water of Leith. Featuring a full menu for that all-day European vibe.
Marchmont
A leafy spot that’s Marchmont’s go-to for wine, sourdough melts, and deli provisions — plus bottles to take away.
Leith Walk bakery
A warm, artisan bakery on Leith Walk with local coffee and French patisserie made in-house.

Marchmont
Set on a leafy residential corner, Toast Marchmont sits in what used to be Peter Green — a century-old neighbourhood wine shop with deep local roots. Today it’s a cosy spot filled with locals popping in for delicious deli bites, wine, and takeaway bottles.

Leith Walk bakery
Toast’s newest corner started as a tucked-away production bakery before finding its own home on the Walk. Now it’s a bright little patisserie turning out French pastries, cakes, and great coffee from morning onward — all made on-site and shared across the Toast family.
